International Film Workshops came to an end in Brasov, Romania

Brasov, Romania — July 15, 2012 — Romanian and international students, who have been selected to participate in the Workshops, alongside Film Director and creator of the Workshops, Bruno Pischiutta, as well as Film Producer Daria Trifu, president of the Brasov Film Center, were also present to the month-long program held at the Dramatic Theater ‘Sica Alexandrescu’ in Brasov.

A total of 44 highly dedicated, ambitious and talented applicants, were accepted. The majority were from Transylvania, and other Romanian areas; Students also came from countries such as Russia, Serbia, India, USA, South Africa and Canada.

The world-class Film Workshops, were held in English language and they were free of charge.

Brasov Film Center is already receiving submissions from worldwide talent, who wish to enroll in its 2013 International Film Workshops Academic program.

It is the goal of Brasov Film Center, to professionally train Transilvanian film talent, to bring them to an international level of professionalism and recognition and to create a successful Transilvanian film industry. The Transilvanian talent, have a priority in being accepted to attend the workshops each year. A small number of students, from other Romanian areas and from foreign countries will always be admitted. Brasov Film Center offers the students of its International Film Workshops, the chance of working in production, as early as they successfully complete their chosen program.

Film writer, director and producer Bruno Pischiutta, has been the principal instructor of the International Film Workshops 2012. Esteemed international film professionals have also addressed the students.

In some cases, students have qualified for free lodging offered by the Center, for the duration of their stay in Brasov.

Students may submit their applications for the 2013 Workshops to info@rollywood.org. There is no age limit, however a minimum knowledge of the English language is required.

Over $500,000 has been invested by Brasov Film Center, in order to cover all the costs associated with the Workshops (including lodging for foreign students, national and international travel, production fees, etc.). The Workshops were filmed; A total of 20 hours of film has been shot and will be edited, to become the first ever complete DVD set for actors, directors, producers and screenplay writers. These will be sold worldwide starting in fall.

Outside of the daily workshop session, the students have spent many hours with Bruno Pischiutta, Daria Trifu and their team at the office in Brasov; They were given the opportunity to witness first hand, the preparation of the Brasov International Film Festival. The students also witnessed the company’s daily operation, film post production, magazine production and publishing, and they had the chance to listen and see the way in which Bruno and Daria interact with international film executives and media by phone, video calls and email.

The International Film Workshops program, is committed to training its students in various areas of film making like acting, directing, writing, producing, and to provide them with on set experience, during and after successfully completing the Workshops. In addition, the students are be participating in the organization of the Brasov International Film Festival & Market, so that they have the opportunity to meet with international film and media executives.

The students who have successfully completed the Workshops, will receive a certificate of attendance on July 29, the last day of the Festival.

The application deadline for the 2013 Workshops is April 15, 2013.

Film Author and International Academician Bruno Pischiutta, is be the principal instructor of the International Film Workshops.

Throughout his career, Bruno Pischiutta wrote, directed, produced, executive produced and edited feature films, TV shows and documentaries that were widely screened in cinemas and broadcast throughout Italy and other European countries, Canada and the United States.

Maestro Pischiutta is also a published writer and he received several international Awards. He is known for his socially conscious and non violent films.

His latest feature film PUNCTURED HOPE, was screened in theaters in Los Angeles for three months during the 2009 Academy Awards season. The film was nominated by The Political Film Society (Hollywood) as ‘BEST FILM EXPOSE’ and ‘BEST FILM ON HUMAN RIGHTS’ of 2009 alongside AVATAR, THE HURT LOCKER, INVICTUS and INGLORIOUS BASTERDS. This nomination qualifies Maestro Pischiutta, as one of the best film directors of dramatic feature films in North America.
