YOUNG ARTISTS FROM THE ‘ART LYCEUM HANS MATTIS TEUTSCH’ HAVE DESIGNED THE OFFICIAL POSTER AND TROPHY FOR THE BRASOV INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL & MARKET 2012

Brasov, Romania — June 25, 2012 — Brasov International Film Festival & Market (July 19-29) is the nonviolent Festival organized by Brasov Film Center S.R.L. in partnership with the City Hall of Brasov.

Daria Trifu, Festival Director of Brasov International Film Festival & Market, has announced today the winners of the poster and trophy design contest held at the Art Lyceum Hans Mattis Teutsch in Brasov, Romania.

A total of 64 students have taken part in the contest and they have created 41 individual posters and 23 trophies. The students have created the artworks over a period of two months and under the guidance of professors Simona Cadar, Flaviana Enache and Nicolae Daicu. The director of the Lyceum, Marioara Popa, has overlooked the program from start to end.

The winning poster design is by Irina Birt and the winning trophy design is by Denisa Barbalata. Both students are 15 years old and in 9th grade.

The remaining artworks will be part of an exhibition on display in the lobby of the Dramatic Theater ‘Sica Alexandrescu’ for the duration of the Festival.

Brasov Film Center S.R.L., owner and organizer of the Festival, has a partnership with the Lyceum of Art Hans Mattis Teusch. Brasov Film Center will donate 10% of the profit from the feature documentary about the first edition of the Brasov Film Festival, to the Lyceum.

The donation is in line with the producers’ program of returning part of the profit from their films to worthy causes or organizations in the community where such movies where produced.

Brasov Film Center, as communicated during the press conference on June 5th that was held at the Cerbul Carpatin in Brasov, is also donating 10% of the profit from the documentary BRASOV: PROBABLY THE BEST CITY IN THE WORLD to the shelter for single mothers, ‘Casa Mamei’, in Brasov. The documentary Is directed by Bruno Pischiutta and produced by Petronela Rotar for Brasov Film Center. The executive producer is Daria Trifu and the hosts are Petronela Rotar, Andreea Tincea, Alexandra Epure, Elena Paraschiv, Bogdana Ross and Oana Iosub. The documentary will have its world premiere on July 19th, out of competition, at the Festival.
