Brasov, Romania — July 20, 2012 — The feature documentary BRASOV: PROBABLY THE BEST CITY IN THE WORLD produced by Daria Trifu and created and directed by Bruno Pischiutta, was screened yesterday night, out of competition in its English version, at the Dramatic Theater. The film opened the First Edition of the Brasov International Film Festival & Market.
Numerous very elegant people from several countries met on the red carpet, with the local public: they came from Russia, Serbia, Italy, Germany, Canada and the USA to participate in the Film Festival, the most important artistic and cultural event in Romania this summer.
The evening was presented by international film director Bruno Pischiutta in the English language and by Romanian actress Alina Csiki in Romanian language. Festival Director Daria Trifu, declared the first edition of the Brasov International Film Festival & Market officially open.
Bruno Pischiutta spoke about some of the films in competition. He also explained the concept behind the documentary, that is targeted to the American viewers. This film could be instrumental in bringing thousands of American tourists to Brasov as well as terrific benefits in terms of employment and financial advantages. He also explained that the documentary, in Romanian language, will be screened in Piata Sfatului on Friday July 27 at 21:30. Per request of the Romanian Ambassador in Cuba, the documentary will be subtitled in the Spanish language and it will be presented in November, in Havana, to the Cuban public.
The screening of the documentary on the big screen at the Dramatic Theater was preceded by a Monumentary of three minutes, a commercial of Procter & Gamble, one of the numerous sponsors of the Festival; this was followed by applause before the documentary screening started.
The public received the film very well and some of their comments include “… it is definitely the best documentary ever made about Brasov… “, “… this is how documentaries should be made… “ and “… Bruno, you did with this film more than every politician ever did for Brasov and Romania… “
The screening was so successful, that the Board of Directors of Global Film Studio Inc., company that finances the Brasov Film Festival and the International Workshops of Brasov, decided yesterday night to qualify the documentary, for nomination consideration by the upcoming Academy Awards. The decision was communicated to the public.
At the conclusion of the evening, the very elegant film actress Alina Csiki, one of the best dressed of the night, thanked Bruno Pischiutta for all he has done and continues to do for the city of Brasov.
